Where do you go to get fresh amazing pizza around Ktown? KONY! Of course, King of New York Pizzeria. Pick a specialty like BBQ chicken, or ricotta & spinach or build your own like I always do! Pepperoni pineapple and red onion :) You get 2 sizes to choose from 12" or 17" and what goes best with pizza? A cold beer of course! And I'm not talking taste-less bud beer or anything domestic I'm talking amazing endless craft beers! A few on tap the rest in bottles and even a few you can get in a pitcher. Happy hour is a must! 50% all pies you can get a 17 inch for $9 instead of the usual $19 and $1 off beer and $2 off wine, you can't beat the tunes either old school hip hop usually when games aren't on the TVs around the parlor.

Korean BBQ
All you can eat?? Where do I sign up?! The first time I tried Korean BBQ I was taken to Parks BBQ on Vermont by my boyfriend. I really didn't know much about Korean BBQ or anything about Korean foods really. When I saw the menu all I saw was meat cuts and prices ranging from $20-40. How confusing, should I order sides? Am I really just going to have to eat only meat ? I tried asking my boyfriend but he really wasn't any help all he would say was "no don't order sides it comes with salad" after not getting too many answers I just went along with it. Then I was surprised when our table was filled with dishes of foods I've never seen before, now I know those "side dishes" are banchan! I was surprised when the meat arrived raw and they turned on a grill at the center of our table for us to cook. After taking a few glances at a Korean family across from us I felt a little more comfortable eating our beef brisket. After a while I was wrapping my meat in rice paper adding onions on top, having bites of the kimchi and the romaine salad with this citric dressing that I love. I don't think I'll forget my first taste and experience of Kbbq, I love it, I have it almost once a week. My boyfriend and I even got our own grill to cook our sliced meats. It's delicious and I'm looking forward to sharing my favorite places around ktown I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures too.

From the San Fernando valley to Ktown
It's been almost a year since I moved out to Koreatown with my boyfriend from the valley. Coming to a place where I didn't know a lot of people or the area can be a little intimidating especially when a lot is written in a language I don't understand. Well thankfully I've been able to explore enough with my boyfriend to get to know our area and where to eat... We're even regulars at a few different spots and all without a Korean friend! I see K-town changing everyday in the year I've been here. Although I reside in the heart of Ktown or as some like to call it "the nice area" it has gone from predominantly Hispanic families to more a younger hip mix of Korean, Hispanic , black, and white. Not only this but our streets are cleaner, more dog friendly buildings, and you see this change more and more often. Well my goal here is just to help others that are moving here or just visiting to try new places the name of the place is in Korean or the dishes aren't what we're used to. We have so many hidden gems here and everything is worth a try! Just a picture of me at Disneyland, now let the K-town eats begin!
